Come and join me on a half-day woodturning lesson (9.30am until 1.00pm) held in Mirfield, West Yorkshire.

This half-day course is designed for the beginner woodturner taking their first tentative steps into spindle turning. Spindle turning can often be a little stressful to beginners, with catches and dig-ins causing confidence to be lost. This course is aimed at heping beginners improve their spindle turning tool work by completing a simple, spidle project which they will take home with them. Sharpening will be discussed briefly, but is not a main focus of the day.

All tools and timber are provided, BUT if you own any tools and want me to have a look at them, I encourage you to bring them along. However, please note that it will be a very busy morning, and although I am happy to help sharpen some tools up for you to use at home, I won't have time to sort out a box-full!

The course will begin promptly at 9.30am, so please make sure you are there in good time to settle in. The order of the day is, briefly, as follows:

• Health & Safety in the workshop
• An explanation into the basics of spindle turning tools, with a brief discussion about sharpening
• Choosing and undertaking your chosen spindle turning project (there are 2 to choose from)

Please Note:

The course will be quite intense with lots to learn so it will be quite quickly-paced, so feel free to bring along a notepad for jotting things down.

The course is limited to 3 people maximum to allow you the highest level of input from myself (it will only run with 2 people as a minimum).

We will have a tea/coffee break in the morning and the afternoon - although you can take as many additional comfort breaks as you wish!!

Cancellations:

If you opt to cancel the course, please give two calendar weeks notice to allow me to try to replace your spot. Any cancellations (with the exception of severe circumstances involving either yourself of an immediate family member) within the two-week period prior to the course will incur a fee of £35.00 which will be deducted from the course fee paid.

The course will only run with a minimum of 2 attendees. If this is not reached, we reserve the right to cancel the course. Should this happen, we will give you the option of moving your course to another available date within a 12 month period; but if this is absolutely not feasible you are entitiled to a full refund of the cost paid towards the course.
