Come and join me on a full-day woodturning lesson (9.30am until 4.30pm) held at Taylors Mirfield: Unit 44, Holmebank Business Park, Station Road, Mirfield, West Yorkshire, WF14 8NA.

This one-day course is designed for the beginner woodturner just finding their feet. Maybe you have never picked up a chisel before; or perhaps you've had a dabble on your own, but have lost your way a bit? If so, then this is the type of course you need to be looking at!

All tools and timber are provided, BUT I encourage you to bring your own tools along for us to look at. 

The course will begin promptly at 10.00am, so please make sure you are there in good time to settle in. The order of the day is, briefly, as follows:

Morning Session:

*Health & Safety in the workshop

*An explanation of a basic set of tools

*Choosing and undertaking your chosen spindle turning project (there are 2 to choose from)

Afternoon Session:

*An introduction to sharpening tools freehand

*Turning a small bowl - THIS PROJECT MAY NOT BE FINISHED BY THE END OF THE DAY

Please Note:

The course will be quite intense and will be quite quickly-paced, so feel free to bring along a notepad for jotting things down.

The course is limited to 3 people maximum to allow you the highest level of input from myself (it will only run with 2 people as a minimum).

We will have a tea/coffee break in the morning and the afternoon, with a half hour lunch break in the middle of the day - although you can take as many additional comfort breaks as you wish!! 

Lunch will be provided. You will be contacted the week prior to the start of the course to find out any dietary requirements you might have.

Cancellations:

Please give two calendar weeks notice of any cancellations to allow us to try to replace your spot. Any cancellations (with the exception of severe circumstances involving either yourself of an immediate family member) within the two-week period will incur a fee of £50.00 which will be deducted from the course fee paid.

The course will only run with a minimum of 2 attendees. If this is not reached, we reserve the right to cancel the course, in which case you will be offered an alternative date within 12 months of the original course date, or be offered a full refund. Voucher bookings can only be moved and not refunded.
