Join me - Emma Cook (The Tiny Turner) -  LIVE as I take you through the steps of making one of my signature hanging ornaments in the comfort of your own home! 

The hanging ornament is suited to woodturners of any skill, although to create a very finely turned finial you may benefit from moderate experience. The beauty of this project is you can tailor it to suit whatever level you are at, and it is a wonderful project to encourage you to build your skills in spindle turning.

The masterclass will take place via Zoom. You do not need a camera or microphone in order to watch, BUT it is always better if you do have access to them as these demos are interactive so it will give you a better opportunity to ask questions either during the demo; the break of afterwards.

You DO NOT have to pay anything to Zoom to watch this demonstration - once you have purchased your ticket, you will be sent the link which contains your meeting ID and password so you can join the masterclass.

The Zoom meeting will be open 30 minutes prior to the start time - this will give you time to join, have a friendly natter with fellow woodturners and make sure your equipment is working properly. If you have any problems logging in, please contact tinyturnerird@gmail.com and we will endeavour to get you connected as quickly as possible!

The masterclass will last between 2 and 4 hours with a 15 minute comfort break in the middle of the demo - although feel free to step away at any time should you need to! You're in your own home, after all!

Once the class is over, I will edit the full demonstration and send you a link to be able to watch it at your convenience for a maximum of 30 days. You will also receive an info sheet containing useful hints, tips and links relating to the subject we covered. This will take approximately 1 week for me to finish and forward on to you.

During this online masterclass, I aim to teach you: 

• Turning a finial which will make the bottom of the ornament - this will include an in-depth explanation of which tools I use, how I use them and why; as well as discussing design considerations
• Turning the top section - what we have to take into account when making this section
• Assembling the glass and LED elements to complete the project

These ornaments are a great way of brushing up your spindle turning skills and are lot of fun to make!!!
